The Young Leader’s goal is to ensure membership for the future and to diversify the Buddy Fund leadership.
By adding the opportunity for young professionals to get involved in leadership, The Buddy Fund will continue to have a well-rounded perspective and reach in the community.
It all started when Tom Wesolowski (Board Member and Young Leaders Chairman) and Ann Lederman (Executive Director) realized that The Buddy Fund could improve by adding young professionals to the board and subcommittees. After asking colleagues and friends, they were able to conclude that it could help. The Buddy Fund now has 20 young leaders!
These leaders help with marketing that spreads awareness of The Buddy Fund so that we can continue helping at-risk, underserved youth within the St. Louis Region. They help to bring in sponsorships, volunteers, and auction items for our annual golf tournament. Additionally, the young leaders are mentored by board members, as well as support roles within the board so that they have the tools to become board members in the future.
On July 28, from 6-8 PM, there will be a Young Leaders Social event for current and prospective young leaders at the Anheuser Biergarten. Last year 90+ people attended the event and had a great time networking & hanging out with their friends, all for a great cause!
Only $40 for beverages, unlimited food, and getting to know more like-minded people!
